LLM Traffic Pages

Which of your pages are getting visits from AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot. This is real on-site traffic from the LLMs, captured the moment they start referring users to you.

What it measures

  • Page & AI source — the landing page and the AI engine that referred the session.
  • Sessions / Users / Conversions — GA4 metrics for that page from that AI source.

How we identify AI traffic

GA4 records the referrer hostname as the session source. We match it against the known AI-engine hosts (chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com, claude.ai, copilot.microsoft.com, and related). Generic search engines are deliberately excluded.

Why it matters

AI answer engines are an emerging traffic channel most analytics setups don't isolate. Pages already earning AI referrals are your proving ground — study what makes them citable and replicate it. Pair this with AI Overviews Overview to connect AI visibility (impressions) with AI traffic (sessions).

Caveats

  • Requires a connected GA4 property. Volumes are typically small today and growing — treat it as a trend.
  • AI engines don't always pass a referrer; this captures what GA4 attributes, which is a floor, not a ceiling.
